VASJ blanks Valley Christian

Cleveland VASJ blanked Valley Christian 46-0 Saturday night in North Coast League play

POLAND, OH (WKBN)-Cleveland Villa Angela-St. Joseph traveled to Poland Saturday night and shut out Valley Christian 46-0 to open North Coast League play for the Eagles.

Wet conditions played a role as Valley Christian turned the ball over twice in the first quarter. The first came on a bad exchange between quarterback and running back giving the Vikings great field position.

The first play of the drive for VASJ, Jerry Higgins took a handoff 22-yards to the outside to put the Vikings ahead 7-0.

Later in the quarter, a snap went through the hands of Eagles quarterback Milan Square which VASJ pounced on for the second turnover of the game.

On the ensuing drive the Vikings found the end zone again on the ground, extending their lead to 14-0.

Valley Christian falls to 0-6 and is back home next Saturday night against NCL foe St Thomas Aquinas.
