Police: 6 killed in weekend violence in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Police say gunfire and other violence claimed the lives of six people and injured others over the weekend in Philadelphia.

Officers were called to a north Philadelphia home shortly before 2:30 a.m. Saturday and found one man lying in the hallway and another around the corner. Both had multiple gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead.

On Friday night, a 36-year-old man walking in a different part of north Philadelphia was accosted and shot. He died 4½ hours later at a hospital.

On Saturday afternoon, a woman died after an assault in a north Philadelphia apartment.

On Saturday night, a northwest Philadelphia shooting killed one man and wounded another.

At the same time in northeast Philadelphia, police said a 32-year-old man was stabbed to death by a woman during an argument.
