MCCTC hosts manufacturing and motivational program for students

CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – Hundreds of students spent the day on Tuesday learning more about the manufacturing field, as part of the Cutting Edge program at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center.

The program gave students a hands-on learning experience in engineering, as well as exposure to different manufacturing careers. Students also heard from motivational speaker Arel Moodie, who discussed student success and leadership.

Moodie is the best-selling author of “Your Starting Point for Student Success,” and he has spoken to more 300,000 people in 48 states and five countries, as well being a featured speaker at the White House. He hosts one of the top career podcasts on iTunes, The Art of Likability, and is a contributor to Forbes, The Chicago Tribune and Huffington Post.

“One idea, one decision, one interaction, one mentor can change your life for the better. If you just sit by yourself and don’t interact with anyone, you might miss that one opportunity,” Moodie told students on Tuesday.

The Cutting Edge program was designed to bring more exposure to manufacturing opportunities that students across Mahoning County could pursue.
