Water main break triggers boil alert and school closures for Wellsville

WELLSVILLE, Ohio (WKBN) – A major water main break Wednesday afternoon in Wellsville is affecting the village’s water supply.

According to a news release on the Buckeye Water District’s web site, the break happened in Wellsville sometime before 2 p.m. near the intersection of Route 45 and Wells Ave.

The break is affecting water customers from Route 45 to the south end of Wellsville. Any water customers in the area should boil their water before consuming it.

A post on the district’s Facebook page stated that the break, “could last a couple days” and that the “line is 20 to 25 feet deep and it will take time to repair.”

All Wellsville schools will be closed on Thursday, due to the water main break.
