WELLSVILLE, Ohio (WKBN) – Repair crews are still working to fix a water main break in Wellsville Thursday that closed the village’s school district and shut off water for a number of customers.
A Buckeye Water District representative told WKBN that a temporary bypass has been set up to keep water flowing to customers, but some are still without water Thursday, and still others have low water pressure. The representative said that the break will be fixed Friday at the earliest and perhaps on Saturday.
A boil advisory is still in effect for Wellsville Thursday evening.
Wellsville School District Superintendent Richard Bereschik said that the district plans to resume classes Friday as normal, unless the temporary bypass line fails to provide water to the schools.
All Wellsville schools were closed on Thursday due to the water main break.
According to a news release on the Buckeye Water District’s web site, the break happened in Wellsville sometime before 2 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Route 45 and Wells Ave.
