Carr gets 3,000th yard, Hickory beats Greenville

Hickory tops Greenville

GREENVILLE, Pennsylvania (WKBN) – Following a 43-10 victory over Slippery Rock last week, the Hickory Hornets invaded Greenville and defeated the Trojans 28-9 Friday night.

The Hornets stung first in the game with junior running back Charles Carr scoring from 17 yards out with 9:14 remaining in the first quarter.  The score was set up by a 47 yard pass from Luke Brennan to William Gruber.

A Casey Eells field goal put Greenville on the board to cut the lead to 7-3.

Penn State commit Andrew Pryts ran it in from one yard out to extend the Hornets lead to 14-3 in the second quarter.

Hickory’s passing game got back into the mix in quarter number three.  Luke Brennan connected with Joey DeJulia for a 31 yard score to stretch the lead to 21-3.

Matt Crawford put the first Greenville touchdown on the board in the fourth quarter to close the gap to 21-9.

Pryts scored again for Hickory, extending the Hornets lead to 28-9.

Carr surpassed 3,000 career rushing yards in the game.

Hickory will visit Wilmington in week 8.  Greenville will visit Reynolds.
