Mathews falls to Grand Valley

VIENNA, Ohio (WKBN) – With a hold on a playoff spot heading into week seven, the Mathews Mustangs’ road to the post season hit a snag when they fell 28-14 to visiting Grand Valley.

A game between two schools eyeing a spot in the playoffs has visiting Grand Valley leading the host Mathews Mustangs 21-6 at halftime.

Mathews would mount another scoring drive but fell short, losing 28-14.

Grand Valley entered the game holding onto the final playoff spot in Division V Region 15, while Mathews sits in third place in Division VII Region 23.

Mathews (5-2) will host Newbury in week eight.
