East Palestine shocks Crestview

EAST PALESTINE, Ohio (WKBN) – The Crestview Rebels entered Friday night undefeated, state ranked, and having scored at least 45 points in five of their six wins in 2015.  The East Palestine Bulldogs were up for the challenge.  East Palestine jumped out to a 21-0 lead in route to a 47-34 victory over the Rebels.

East Palestine’s Josh Pickett raced off to a 68 yard touchdown to start the game, giving the Bulldogs an early 7-0 lead.

Quarterback Parker Sherry’s rushing touchdown moved the EP lead to 14-0.

Pickett’s second long score of the night extended the lead again, this time to 21-0.

Spencer DeSalvo put the Rebels on the board, running it in from one yard out to close the gap to 21-7.

Sherry’s second score of the night came through the air, connecting with Ryan Ross to extend the Bulldog lead again, this time to 27-7.

After a quick Rebels touchdown coming out of the half brought Crestview within two scores, Pickett struck lightning a third time returning the ensuing kickoff to the house from 80 yards away to put Bulldogs ahead three scores once again, 34-14.

Crestview rallied back, scoring three unanswered touchdowns to tie the game at 34-34.

Then, Pickett scored his fourth touchdown, this time running it in from 43 yards out to put the Bulldogs back on top 41-34.

Grant Wagner then ran it in from 21 yards out to extend the EP lead to 47-34 with just under three minutes remaining in the game.

Crestview will host South Range in week 8.  East Palestine will host Springfield.
