A third quarter score by the Spartans tightened the game to 14-12 heading into the final quarter of the game.

On the games’ final play, the Spartans lined up for the game winning field goal try. On what should have solidified the game for the Raiders, their defense blocked the kick, but the ball bounced into the Spartans’ hands who picked it up and carried it into the endzone for an improbable game winning score.

Warren Harding is sitting in third place in Division II Region 3, trailing only Aurora and Mayfield.

Boardman is on the outside looking in, as they are in ninth place in Division II Region 5, trailing Dresden Tri-Valley by less than seven-tenths of a point.

Boardman (4-3) will travel down the road to Stambaugh Stadium to take on Ursuline next week.

Warren G. Harding (5-2) will hit the road next week to take on Cardinal Mooney.
