POLAND TWP, Ohio (WKBN) – A National Fire Prevention Week event in Poland Township on Sunday.

The Western Reserve Fire District held an Open House at Station 93 on South Hubbard Road. The idea was to teach kids how dangerous fires are and the importance of smoke detectors. Families got a chance to brush up on their safety skills.

Children got an up-close look at the firefighter’s gear and had fire safety books read to them. A few even got to operate a fire hose.

By the way, the Poland Township fire station hands out free smoke alarms. Just call Station 93.
