SHAMOKIN, Pa. (AP) – Police in central Pennsylvania say three people were fatally shot at a residence in Shamokin in a double murder-suicide.
The News-Item newspaper reports that police responding to reports of shots fired at a home on Saturday evening found two men and a woman dead.
Cpl. Jarrod Scandle of the Shamokin Police Department says one of the men used a 20-gauge shotgun to kill the other man and woman. He says the gunman briefly exited the ground-floor apartment in the three-story building, then returned and shot himself.
Scandle says a total of four shots were fired. The identities of the dead weren’t immediately released.
Police are investigating what led to the shooting.
