Contract vote held at Kmart Distribution center in Bazetta Twp.

The Kmart distribution center in Bazetta is adding jobs

BAZETTA TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – More than 200 members of United Auto Workers Local 1112 voted Sunday afternoon on a contract proposal at the Kmart Distribution Center in Bazetta Township.

UAW Local 1112 President Tim O’Hara said the new deal went down by 61 percent.

“Now it’s going to the negotiators at UAW Region B. They will come up with the next step. We don’t really know anything yet. They will come up with where they are going to go from here,” O’Hara said.

The current contract expired Sept. 2. Workers voted down a contract offer in late August, when 150 of the 180 workers at the Perkins-Jones Road facility rejected the contract proposal.
