CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – Power has been restored for all of the approximately 6,000 FirstEnergy customers who were without power in several communities in Mahoning County on Monday, according to the FirstEnergy website.

The outages were first reported about 9:30 a.m. in areas of Youngstown, Boardman, Canfield and Austintown. Crews worked to repair a substation in Youngstown, where the problem originated, throughout the morning and afternoon.

“We started one repair and that repair turned into another repair. Safety is our first priority,” FirstEnergy spokesperson Mark Durbin said on Monday afternoon.
