GIRARD, Ohio (WKBN) – A school in Girard raised awareness about childhood cancer on Wednesday, Sept. 30.

WKBN Anchor Lauren Wood had the chance to visit St. Rose school on that day and got to read to the preschool classes there.

It’s all part of a month-long awareness campaign.

The pre-schoolers and second graders dressed in gold to honor classmates who were diagnosed with cancer.

Students throughout the school wore gold and made signs.

Two families from Saint Rose school have been impacted by cancer in recent years.
