CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – Michelle Knight visited the Valley on Thursday to offer hope and encouragement to others.

Knight was one of three women held captive in a Cleveland home for about a decade by Ariel Castro, who committed suicide in prison one month into his life prison sentence for the kidnappings.

Knight spoke at Drake’s Landing at workshop on Ohio’s Juvenile Sex Offender laws and guidelines. She talked about her experiences and recovery, and she shared advice to help victims.

“Let them know that they are loved. Let them know that they have somebody there for them. Let them know that they have that support and they’re willing to be there through thick and thin for them, and never let them fall,” she said.

Knight said she plans to continue  her speaking engagements to help inspire other victims to remain strong.
