Police fatally shoot suspect on busy Ohio highway

PARMA HEIGHTS, Ohio (AP) – Authorities say the robbery of a pizza restaurant in suburban Cleveland led to a police chase that ended with officers fatally shooting a man along a busy highway.

It happened Thursday afternoon when police chased a suspect who had robbed a Papa John’s Pizza in Parma Heights. The chase ended with a crash in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 480 and the shooting of the suspect by at least one officer.

The Northeast Ohio Media Group reports that authorities haven’t said what led officers to fire at the suspect. Officers from several departments were involved.
