MASURY, Ohio (WKBN) – Three men were arrested in Masury Thursday night, following a home burglary and assault in the 1000 block of Charles Street.
Officers were sent to the home at around 11:45 p.m. for a report that several people were walking around the home of a person that was believed to be at work. A dark colored SUV was found in front of the residence when they arrived.
Upon arrival, police saw a man run into the SUV, and officers pursued the vehicle to the west end of Budd Street, where the suspects jumped from the vehicle and ran into a wooded area nearby, according to a news release from the Brookfield Police Department.
One suspect, 17-year-old Masury teenager, was arrested near the vehicle. Austin Royer, 18, of Greenville, was arrested a short time later with the assistance of the Hubbard Township Police Department.
Jesse Straughn, 18, of Greenville, was also arrested.
Royer and Straughn were taken to Trumbull County Jail and charged with aggravated burglary, and the teenager was taken to the Trumbull County Juvenile Justice Center and was also charged with aggravated burglary.
Police said the suspects assaulted an 18-year-old who was watching the home for a friend. The teenager reported being punched in the face by at least two of the suspects during the incident but only received minor injuries.
Police said a fourth suspect, who was not identified, is still at large.
An investigation is underway, but the burglary does not appear to be connected to another home invasion that occurred on October 6 in Brookfield, according to police.
