Morning crash shuts down Mahoning Avenue

mahoning avenue crash

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A crash earlier this morning forced authorities to shut down a busy street in downtown Youngstown.

This happened right around 9:00 this morning in the 600 block of Mahoning Avenue.

Police tell us that a Pontiac Aztec was traveling too fast toward town when it lost control, sheared off a pole, and struck a fire hydrant.

No water was coming from the hydrant but the road was shut down between West Avenue and Oak Hill because of low-hanging wires.

No word on any injuries or charges.
