Woman arrested in Boston after Amber Alert issued

BOSTON (AP) – A woman has been arrested in Boston after police say she prompted an Amber Alert by leaving Pennsylvania with her infant son after she was told to get him emergency medical care.

The Amber Alert was issued around 1:45 a.m. Saturday for 36-year-old Tiffany Cherry and her 2 ½-month-old son, Quavai. Police say he was suffering from severe dehydration, and his mother fled with him Friday afternoon.

State Police say that around an hour after the alert, the pair were found at Boston Children’s Hospital, where Cherry went to get her son treated. A nurse recognized them.

Cherry was arrested on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and recklessly endangering another person. She was being held in Boston Police custody and could not immediately be reached for comment.
