YSU volleyball falls in 5 sets

The Penguins are now 8-15 overall and 2-6 in the Horizon League.

Youngstown, OH (WKBN) – The YSU volleyball team jumped out to an early lead over Valparaiso, but couldn’t hold on in a 3-2 loss Saturday at the Beeghly Center.

The Penguins fell, 25-21, 23-25, 26-24, 25-20, 15-11 and are now 2-6 in the Horizon League and 8-15 overall. The Crusaders improve to 18-5 and 5-3 in conference play.

YSU was led by Sam Brown with 15 kills and 9 digs, while Sarah Varcolla added 14 kills and 8 digs.
