Boardman cruises past Canton McKinley

Boardman players celebrate after scoring a goal Monday night

BOARDMAN, OH (WKBN)-Boardman opened postseason play Monday night with a crushing 10-1 win over Canton McKinley in the Sectional Semifinals.

The Spartans were able to score early and often against McKinley with six different players notching a goal for Boardman.

Sarah Downie netted a hat trick early in the first half to quickly put the game out of reach, she had four on the evening while Alisa Earvin was the other Spartan to tally multiple goals with two.

Cara Higgins, Skylar Bryant, Anna Dealy and Cassie Stitt all had one goal each.

The win improves Boardman to 7-9-1 overall and play Jackson in the Sectional Semifinals Thursday.
