Suspect wanted in Howland Five Guys robbery nabbed in Michigan

HOWLAND, Ohio (WKBN) – The suspect wanted in the robbery of restaurant in Howland was arrested in Michigan over the weekend, according to Howland police.

Police issued a warrant for Erik Lawson, 36, last Wednesday in connection to the Oct. 11 robbery of the Five Guys restaurant on Route 46 in the township.

Howland Police Chief Paul Monroe said Lawson was arrested in Kent County, Michigan after he allegedly robbed a Walmart store there Saturday night.

Monroe said Lawson will be extradited to Trumbull County once court proceedings are complete in Michigan.

The Five Guys restaurant in Howland, Ohio was robbed.Surveillance pictures of Lawson were released following the robbery in Howland, which resulted in several leads in the case.

Police believe Lawson may be connected to another robbery in the Warren area.

Lawson has a prior arrest for aggravated robbery and escape.
