Farrell grocery store theft turns into an attempted homicide arrest

FARRELL, Pa. (WKBN) – Police say a man caught stealing from the Farrell Golden Dawn grocery store Wednesday was also arrested on attempted homicide charges.

Police were called about 12:44 p.m. to the Golden Dawn, 827 Sharon-New Castle Rd, for a retail theft. Three suspects identified as Kwame Washington, 20, Davon Jones, 20, and Jeremy Carson, 19, all ran from the store.

All three were arrested within minutes of fleeing and found to have $50.00 in merchandise from the store.

Carson, Washington and Jones were charged with retail theft, false identification to a police officer and possessing instruments of crime. All three were arraigned and held on $25,000 bond in the Mercer County Jail.

Carson was also held on a warrant from the McKeesport Police Department for criminal attempted homicide, aggravated assault and firearms charges. He is being held on $250,000 bond in connection to those charges.
