YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A health and wellness fair for those in need took place in Youngstown Thursday at the Arlington Heights Recreational Center.

The Mahoning County Homeless Continuum of Care held its Project Connect 2015.

The event was for all walks of life, but focused on helping the homeless, under-employed and poverty-stricken. Those who showed up received free services including blood screenings, haircuts and information on programs from various agencies.

“We have had a great turnout today,” Angie Paramore with the Mahoning County Homeless Continuum of Care said. “We had a lot that pre-registered, which made everything go just a lot quicker. But then, we had a lot that were just walk-ins.”

They also gave away free food and toiletries to those in need.
