WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Three suspects arrested during a drug investigation in Warren are now in federal custody, and those in the neighborhood said they are happy that the drugs are gone.
Larone Williams, Dockery Cleveland and Menford McCain were arrested and each charged with felony drug possession following a drug bust in Warren, in which police said $1.5 million of cocaine was recovered. The arrests were made following the execution of a search warrant at a Burton Street SE home.
Warren City 5th Ward Councilman Vince Flask applauded the work of investigators in making the arrests. He added that he is glad to hear a large amount of drugs were taken away from his ward.
“This is just the next step in the process of getting it eliminated from the city as a whole,” he said.
The case had been investigated by Warren Police Department’s Street Crime’s Unite and the local branch of the Drug Enforcement Agency for two years. As of Thursday, everything had been handed over to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Neighbors in the area declined to speak to WKBN on camera, but they said they were happy that the drugs were removed.
“I don’t think there is anyone who is going to be disappointed this is gone from the neighborhood,” Flask said.
A digital scale, $100,000 in cash and a loaded 9mm handgun were also confiscated from the home.
