FARRELL, Pennsylvania (WKBN) – Entering Friday night with identical 7 and 0 records and eyeing the District 10 Region 1 title, it was the Sharpsville Blue Devils that came out on top, beating the Farrell Steelers 26-8 on Friday night.

In the first quarter, the Blue Devils capped off a 14 play drive with a four yard Tyrin Peavy touchdown to give Sharpsville the early touchdown lead.
With 10:46 remaining in the first half the Blue Devils struck again. Driving into the redzone, Khaliq Ragster finished things off with a seven yard touchdown run to put Sharpsville ahead 14-0.
But, the Steelers would answer. With 7:32 remaining in the half, Braxton Chapman broke free for a 23 yard touchdown run to bring the Steelers back to within a score 14-8.
At the half, Sharpsville held an edge on offense running 38 plays for 180 yards and taking up more than 16 minutes of clock. The Steelers only ran 17 plays for 108 yards and held the ball for only 7:22.
In the third quarter, the Blue Devils continued their ball-hogging using a 16 play 56 yard drive to increase their lead to 20-8 on a one yard Ragster touchdown run on fourth down.
With 2:43 remaining in the game, Ragster broke free on a 67 yard run to set up a 13 yard touchdown pass from Luke Henwood to Bobby Besser to increase the lead to 26-8, which is how the game would end.
Sharpsville (8-0) entered the game in second place in District 10 Region 1 and will host Wilmington next week.
Farrell (7-1) entered the game in first place in District 10 Region 1 and will travel to Mercer Area next week.
