Police: Man facing charges after pursuit, crash that hurt 2

UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) – State police say a man is facing charges in a police chase that resulted in a collision that injured another driver and a state trooper.

Police in Fayette County allege that the driver swerved out of his lane Friday on Route 119 and nearly hit a patrol car in the passing lane. Officials said the ensuing pursuit reached speeds of 70 to 80 mph, and another trooper joined the case and hit another vehicle, injuring the female driver.

Police called off the pursuit but later tracked the vehicle to an alley in German Township and arrested the driver.

The driver who was injured was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia for treatment of a head injury. A trooper was taken to Uniontown Hospital with a hip injury.
