Sorority cheers for breast cancer awareness

Pink Ribbon Cheer Classic at YSU to raise breast cancer awareness

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – As Breast Cancer Awareness month continues on, Zeta Tau Alpha hosted the 15th annual Pink Ribbon Cheer Classic at Youngstown State University’s Beeghly Center.

The annual cheer and dance exhibition raises money for Zeta Tau Alpha’s philanthropy: breast cancer awareness, research, and education.

The event was created by Kim Caputo James, who hoped to combine her two passions, her sorority and cheerleading, to raise money and awareness for breast cancer.

Since its inception in 2001, the event has raised over $1 million for the cause.
