Ivan Adu-Poku was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating a vehicle without maintaining reasonable control after a crash following a toga party in Youngstown.

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Boardman Police reported arresting a drunk driver wearing a toga early Sunday morning after his vehicle crashed into a telephone pole on Sierra Madre Trail.

The car hit the pole head-on, causing it to splinter and knocking out power for several homes in the area, according to a police report.

Police said that the driver, Ivan Adu-Poku, was wearing a toga and said that he had attended a party at a Youngstown State University fraternity.

Officers said in the police report that they could smell alcohol on Adu-Poku’s breath and see vomit his chest.

Adu-Poku suffered minor injuries and declined to be taken to the hospital.

Police said they gave Adu-Poku field sobriety tests, which he failed, then charged him with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating a vehicle without maintaining reasonable control.
