Boardman PD: Woman used fake pregnant belly to steal clothes

Jessica Mitchell was charged with theft and possessing criminal tools for allegedly stealing from a store and storing the stolen goods in a fake pregnant stomach.

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Boardman Police arrested a woman Saturday evening, charging that she used a mold designed to look like a pregnant stomach to steal clothing.

According to a report, Boardman Police charged Jessica Mitchell, 28, with theft and possessing criminal tools.

Employees at Kohl’s on U.S. Route 224 in Boardman called police, stating that Mitchell had stolen some items from the store, according to the report. The store employee claimed that Mitchell took some items from the store into a dressing room, then concealed them in the mold.

Police found Mitchell in front of a nearby store and handcuffed her before transporting her to the Mahoning County Jail.

Mitchell could not be reached at a phone number listed for her on the police report.
