WEATHERSFIELD TWP., Ohio (WKBN) – Eleven cars were torched during a fire at a junk yard in Weathersfield Township.

Firefighters were called out to Porter’s Auto Wrecking on State Route 169 shortly after 5 p.m. for reports of flames in the area. The fire quickly spread throughout the lot, but firefighters extinguished the blaze and kept it from spreading to a nearby building.

The Weathersfield Township Fire Chief said investigators are looking into the possibility that the fire was started accidentally by a worker, who had done some welding work before leaving for the day at 5 p.m. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, however.
