Youngstown house fire displaces family

A fire at a home in Richview Avenue in Youngstown displaced a family and caused $13,000 in damage.


YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – No one was injured in a fire on Richview Avenue near Mahoning Avenue on Youngstown’s west side.

The fire was reported at 6:54 p.m. by a passerby. The residents were not home, according to the Youngstown Fire Department.

The fire was confined to the second floor bedroom in the home, but there was water damage throughout, amounting to approximately $13,000 in damage.

The fire was extinguished in approximately one hour. The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation.

The family has been displaced and is being assisted by the American Red Cross.
