Fundraiser held for Sharon Regional stabbing victim

A fundraiser was held for Sharon Regional stabbing victim Linda Clark at Boardman High School on Oct. 27.

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Before Linda Clark was known as the woman stabbed at Sharon Regional Health System, she was an artist whose works are displayed throughout the area.

But treatment for the stabbing has been costly.

To help with those costs, there was a fundraiser on Tuesday night at Clark’s alma mater, Boardman High School. Some of her original pieces were for sale.

Clark was stabbed by a man wanting drugs in November 2013. The man, Justin DelFratte, has since been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the stabbing.

Since then, Clark’s painting has been limited.

Clark said she hopes she can regain her strength to continue her passion.

“Hopefully, someday I can paint again,” she said. “I did murals that were as big as 60-feet long and 30-feet high. I don’t see me doing anything like that for awhile yet.”

Clark is continuing rehab to help her through the healing process.
