LISBON, Ohio (WKBN) — Demolition began Thursday on West Point Elementary, the last of the Beaver Local School District’s five school buildings to be razed.

According to the Morning Journal, the administration building on State Route 7 also was demolished, and board offices were relocated to the new K-12 building on Bell School Road.

Interim Superintendent Lou Ramunno told the Morning Journal that the district is currently in the process of leasing the West Point property to a community softball league and is still actively pursuing sale of the properties that formerly held the Rogers and Calcutta elementary buildings.

The middle school property is expected to be used for baseball and softball fields, and for auxiliary parking for the new school and ball fields.
