LISBON, Ohio (WKBN) – In a game that has major playoff implications, the Crestview Rebels and Lisbon Blue Devils traded punches like a pair of heavyweights in a back-and-forth offensive battle that ended with Lisbon escpaing with a one-point win, 55-54.

Trailing 13-7 at the half, the Blue Devils’ Jason Thompson punched it in on the ground to give Lisbon a 14-13 lead.
Later in the second quarter and trailing 21-14, it was Lisbon’s Frankie Morrell with a rushing touchdown right up the middle to tie things at 21.
With 2:28 remaining in the half, the Blue Devils took the lead on another Thompson touchdown run to make it 28-21 Blue Devils, but the Rebels would answer with a game tying touchdown.
At the half, the game was locked in a 28-28 tie.
It was more of the same in the second half as the two teams continued to trade scores. Trailing 42-35, the Blue Devils turned to Thompson again, who took it 69 yards for another score, knotting things up at 42.
In the fourth quarter, the Rebels and Blue Devils swapped touchdowns once again with Lisbon tying the game at 48 with 2:39 remaining in the game.
Tied at 48 heading into overtime, the Rebels took the ball first and scored to take the 54-48 lead, but on the extra point attempt the kick was blocked, opening the door for a possible Lisbon victory.
On their possession, the Blue Devils found the endzone and connected on the extra point to give the Blue Devils the hard fought win.
Lisbon (9-1) entered the game ranked fifth in Division VI, Region 19.
Crestview (8-2) entered the game having clinched a home playoff game ranked first in Division V, Region 15.
