AKRON, Ohio (WKBN) – A the battle between two of northeastern Ohio’s most accomplished Catholic football programs, it was the St. Vincent St. Mary Irish topping the Ursuline Irish 21-14.

At the half, Ursuline holds a 14-7 lead over St. Vincent St. Mary in what would be a huge victory for the team from Youngstown.

In the third quarter, a St. Vincent St. Mary touchdown tied things up at 14.

In the fourth, St. Vincent St. Mary put up the game winning score, topping Ursuline 21-14.

Entering the game, Ursuline was ranked fourth in Division IV, Region 11 with a spot in the post-season well-in-hand.

Akron St. Vincent St. Mary entered the game ranked third in Division III, Region 7.
