Fowler Twp house fire causes significant damage, few injuries

Fire causes significant damage to Fowler Township home

FOWLER TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – Investigators are looking into what caused a house fire in Fowler Township.

It started just after 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning on Cadwallader-Sonk Road near Route 193.

No one was inside the house at the time, but the family that was moving in did have some items inside.

Six departments responded to the call.

The assistant chief, Randy Tatum, says two firefighters from Vienna fell through the floor while putting out the fire. He says they were not seriously hurt.

“I advised their chief to send them to get medical attention after adrenaline was all calmed down,” Tatum said. “They might be sore, bumps, bruises.”

He says the damage from the fire could cost about $50,000 and that the home may be a total loss.
