Heroin epidemic spurs organization of Niles walk

Two women organize Niles Walk Against Heroin

NILES, Ohio (WKBN) – The heroin epidemic continues to be a serious and deadly problem in the Mahoning Valley.

Two Trumbull County women say it’s gotten so bad in their hometown, they’re organizing a walk.

They want to remember everyone who has lost their battle with addiction and show support for those who need to be saved.

The organizers are asking people to come and participate in what they are calling the Niles Walk Against Heroin.

“We just want the public to know, so that way we can get as many people as possible,” organizer Erica Clay said. “I already have tons of volunteers.”

The walk is set for November 14 at 1:00 at the pavilion near the bike path in downtown Niles.
