Report of Halloween candy with ‘needle-like’ object probed in Philadelphia

KENNETT SQUARE, Pa. (AP) – Police in suburban Philadelphia are investigating Halloween candy reportedly found with “a needle-type item” inside.

The Kennett Square police department said Sunday that such items were reportedly found inside five wrapped Twix bars given to four different children on Halloween night in the Stenning Hills area of the Chester County borough.

Police said the candy and packaging have been submitted for processing and examination and their investigation continues.

Authorities have urged parents to check all candy children are given, and people with candy left over that wasn’t handed out should also check it for possible tampering.
