Touring passenger train strikes, kills woman in Summit County

PENINSULA, Ohio (AP) – Investigators say a train hit and killed a woman as she walked across the railroad tracks at a Summit County park.

The crash happened Sunday afternoon at Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Peninsula. Park spokeswoman Mary Pat Doorley says the touring passenger train was traveling at about 10 or 15 mph at the time of the incident.

Investigators didn’t immediately identify the victim. They are looking into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
