YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A man reported missing from Struthers was found Tuesday afternoon.
Police in Struthers, Youngstown and Boardman were trying to track the man down after he was reported missing by his family who hadn’t seen him since Sunday night.
Donald Bonwick, 33, of Struthers, was reported missing after he left home about 8:30 p.m. Sunday and never returned.He was located Tuesday afternoon, but details of his whereabouts have not been released.
Bonwick’s father, Charles Bonwick, said he was with his son at the Cleveland Browns football game on Sunday and returned home early that evening. Bonwick left home about 8:30 p.m. and told his father he was going to see a friend who lives on Hillman Way in Youngstown but never returned.
Police contacted the woman on Hillman Way who told them that Bonwick took her to Wal-Mart that evening but that he left her home between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m.
Boardman police officers contacted Verizon who agreed to ping Bonwick’s cellphone and provided a “low confidence estimate” of its last known location to be somewhere within 1 to 2 miles of Overland Avenue. Police searched the neighborhood as well as other nearby areas.
A ping of Bonwick’s cellphone on Tuesday put the device somewhere in the area of Blane Avenue. Police checked that area with no results.
Charles Bonwick said his son is diagnosed ADD/ADHD and is on daily medication. He said he didn’t know if his son has his medication with him and could become disoriented without it.
