COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKBN) Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine was a guest on ‘CBS This Morning’ on Monday and was interviewed for a segment on ’60 Minutes’ concerning the heroin epidemic in Ohio.
Titled ‘Heroin in Heartland,’ ’60 Minutes’ took a look at how the heroin problem has permeated just about every county in Ohio. DeWine talked with the news magazine about the impact specifically in Ohio and what his office is doing to help combat the epidemic.
According to CBS News, heroin use in the past decade jumped more than 60 percent. The users are men and women across all incomes, and heroin-related overdoses have nearly quadrupled.
During the “60 Minutes” report, DeWine showed correspondent Bill Whitaker how heroin is gripping Ohio, from rural towns to wealthy suburbs. DeWine joined “CBS This Morning” to discuss heroin’s impact.
