Canfield soccer falls to Marlington at Regionals

SOLON, Ohio (WKBN) – Canfield’s tournament run came to an end with a 2-1 loss to Marlington in the Division II Boys’ Soccer Regional Semifinals Wednesday night at Solon High School.

The Dukes opened the scoring in the first half when Jorda Boehm scored on a free kick at the 37:12 mark.

Canfield tallied the equalizer when Sophomore R.J. Thomas found the back of the net with 3:42 left in the first half, sending the game to a 1-1 tie at halftime.

Marlington took the lead for good on a header by Tyler Lallie with just under eighteen minutes left.

The Cardinals end the season with a record of 13-5-2.

Marlington advances to face Canton Central Catholic in the Division II Regional Finals at a site and time TBA.
