Police say suspects passed counterfeit bills in East Liverpool

EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio (WKBN) – Police in East Liverpool are looking for two suspects who they say passed counterfeit bills at a local Dollar General store.

According to a police report, two males walked into the Dollar General store on Pennsylvania Ave. at about 11:50 a.m. Thursday and purchased $650 in gift cards.

East Liverpool counterfeit billsThe $50 bills used in the transaction were counterfeit, according to police.

The bills were detected with a security pen and did not have a security strip. All the bills had the same serial numbers.

Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to call East Liverpool police at (330) 385-1234.
