Harris & LaBrae impressive in win over Grand Valley

ORWELL, Ohio (WKBN) – LaBrae, making their first trip back to the post-season in four years, rolled to a 42-7 victory over the home standing Grand Valley tonight. With the win, the Vikings won their first playoff game since 1983.

Keevon Harris stole the show as he ran for 287 yards on the ground on just 13 carries. He also caught a pair of passes for 80 yards (TD). Harris set the school’s all-time single season record. Carlton Brown completed 5 of 12 for 102 yards (2 TDs). Arjay Oliver, who caught a touchdown, also ran for 122 yards on 7 attempts. For the game, LaBrae outgained Grand Valley 516 to 160 in total yards. The Vikings ran for 414 yards as a team.

LaBrae’s Harris opened the scoring with a 57-yard touchdown catch to take the early lead on the home standing Grand Valley Mustangs, 7-0. Once again, the Vikings’ offense answered the bell again as Oliver dashed 70-yards into the endzone to extend the Viking lead (14-0). To finish off the first quarter scoring, Harris ran 11-yards and then #4 used his speed to race 95-yards to take a 28-0 lead.

To begin the second half (first play from scrimmage), Harris scored his fourth touchdown on a 88-yard dash to take a 35-7 lead. With 7:35 left in the contest, Brown and Oliver connected on a 19-yard touchdown to extend the LaBrae advantage to 42-7.
