Sharpsville is perfect in the regular season

SHARPSVILLE, Pennsylvania – The Blue Devils knocked off visiting Greenville this evening, 34-13. The Blue Devils’ win gives coach Paul Piccirilli’s program their first undefeated regular season since 2011 (9-0).

At the end of the first quarter, the score was tied at 7. Over the next twenty-four minutes, the Blue Devils outscored the Trojans 27-0 to take a 34-7 advantage entering the final frame.

The Blue Devils were able to score 35 points or more in eight of their first nine games this season. Last year, Sharpsville advanced to the Western Finals after have three losses during the regular season. Tonight, Khaliq Ragster ran for 119 yards on 21 attempts.

Greenville (7-3) saw their 14-game road winning streak snapped. Even with their setback, the Trojans have won 29 of their last 35 games.

Sharpsville will play Maplewood next week in the Class A playoffs while Greenville will tangle with Fort LeBoeuf in Class AA.
