Car accident on I-80 in Austintown closes SR 46 ramp

A commercial vehicle and passenger vehicle collided on Interstate 80 and blocked state route 46 ramp in Austintown

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A two car accident on Interstate 80 that occurred just before 7:00 on Saturday night closed the State Route 46 ramp.

According to Sgt. Brian Vail of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a commercial vehicle and passenger vehicle  were both travelling eastbound on I-80 when they collided.

He said they slid over to the ramp, disabling and blocking it.

The two people riding in the passenger vehicle were transported to St. Elizabeth’s Health Center in Youngstown. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the driver flat-lined and was brought back to life.

The tractor-trailer driver was unharmed.

The ramp reopened just before midnight on Saturday.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is asking anyone who saw the crash to contact them at 330-533-6866.
