Model trains on display in Austintown

The Youngstown Model Railroad Club showcases its model train display

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Youngstown Model Railroad Association is once again showing off its talents with a three week open house in Austintown.

Model trains of all shapes and sizes are on display at the club in Austintown.

One layout shows the south side of Youngstown in the 1950’s, complete with a steel mill and an amusement park.

New at this year’s open house is a fully operational roller coaster.

The displays are built year-round by 41 members of the association, each with unique talents.

“We have guys that are in scenery, guys that work on electrical stuff and every person to get to something like this, the size and magnitude, of what we have here,” Craig Ziobert said. “Takes a lot of passion, a lot of pride, that’s for sure.”

The display will be open November 14th and 15th and December 5th and 6th from noon to 6 p.m.
