Pedestrian struck by vehicle on 224 passes away

CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – Ty Shawn Jayvon Burkley, the pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Route 224, passed away around 8:00 Sunday morning according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Burkley was struck as he was walking eastbound near Raccoon Road by a car driven by 30-year-old Kerrie Sefchik.

Burkley was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Youngstown.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says it will consult with the Mahoning County prosecutor on charges.
