Car and train collide in Alliance

A car and train collided in Alliance, Ohio.

ALLIANCE, Ohio (WKBN) – Two railroad crossings in Alliance closed Thursday morning after a train hit a car that was stalled on the tracks.

The accident happened about 3:50 a.m. at the crossing on N. Union Street. The driver the of the vehicle exited his car after it stalled on the tracks. The train coming through smashed into the vehicle. No one was hurt.

train-crash3The crossing at Vine Street was also closed because of the accident. Detours are marked at both crossings.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area.

The crossings should reopen by 7 a.m.
